First breed classes held at Hanbury Show

Another event to be running British White breed classes for the first time in 2022 was the Hanbury Countryside Show near Redditch in Worcestershire, held on Saturday 2nd July. Taking on the job of judging these classes was the current BWCS President and owner of the renowned Castleton herd in Powys, Mr Mick Wright, who commented:

After a run of good weather the Hanbury Countryside Show was held on a day forecast to be mild and sunny with occasional showers. Well, I suppose we did have only one shower....! There was a reasonable entry of British Whites from three exhibitors and we should all thank the exhibitors for the effort they put in to promote our breed. We always need to keep improving the quality of cattle shown but that is coming. I should like to congratulate the show committee on a very well organised and stewarded event where they do their best to educate the public on all aspects of rural life and food production.
